 Cameron Young Holds Three-Shot Lead at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic

In Dubai, Cameron Young is doing pretty awesome at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic. He's leading by three shots as we head into the weekend, thanks to his super cool 8-under 64 on Friday.

Cameron, who's ranked 25th in the world and trying out Dubai for the first time, nailed nine birdies. But oh boy, he had a little hiccup on the last hole. His second shot on No. 9 took a dive into the water, and he ended up with a bogey.

"I was putting like a champ," said Cameron, the 2021-22 PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year. "I sank some long putts yesterday and did it again today. Some of them felt like they had no business going in. I kept it clean, not too many mistakes."

So far, Cameron is at 13-under 131 after two rounds at Emirates Golf Club. Adrian Meronk (66), the DP World Tour’s player of 2023, and Andy Sullivan (67) are three shots behind.

The Hojgaard brothers, Nicolai (69) and Rasmus (70), along with Richie Ramsay (68), are trailing by six shots.

Now, the big names—world No. 2 Rory McIlroy and Open champion Brian Harman. Rory had a decent day, birdying the 18th to finish at 2-under. But he's got some catching up to do, sitting 10 shots behind the leader. Brian Harman, a stroke further back, is also on the chase.

Rory, a three-time winner here, is trying to bounce back after finishing second in the Dubai Invitational last week, where Tommy Fleetwood took the top spot. Tommy, by the way, is eight shots behind Cameron after his 70 on Friday. Let's see what the weekend brings in this exciting golf showdown in Dubai!
